Abstract

There are public and government concerns that social media may encourage risky behavior in the offline environment. In this research, the relationship between virtual social networks and the tendency to risky behaviors has been investigated through a survey method. The statistical population of the present study was the youths aged 18-29 of Izeh city, whose number is about 198,000 according to the census of 2015. The sample size was estimated to be 400 people using Cochran's formula, and the sampling method was a multi-stage cluster. In order to collect data, a researcher-made questionnaire was used. The results of the research hypotheses test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between social networks and the tendency to risky behaviors.
