Sociological explanation of the impacts of economic practices on consuming behaviors (A study on Isfahan city)

Abstract

In recent decades with industrialization and urbanization growth, huge changes have been appeared in life quality and consumption patterns in societies and it seems that consumption has been transformed to a vital tool for social distinction. Therefore, consumption have converted from an economical phenomenon to a multi_dimensional phenomenon in humanʼs life. Theoreticians also mentioned self and reinforcement as an effective value on forming consuming behavior pattern beside economical actions. The main purpose of this article is to explain the economical and social dimensions of economical actions relation with consumption in Isfahan city. Questioner was used as the tool to collect data and was answered by 370 people in who were chosen through cluster sampling. Analyzing data indicates that economical action indicator explain 33 percent of the forming consuming behavior pattern; while economical dimension has the direct and tolerable correlation with consumption, social dimension has a direct and average correlation. Comparing means also show that age as a demographical and factor is also effective on consumingand behavior. Younger categories have more consuming and preferences in comparison with other age categories. In the end some and suggestions were in presented in the micro and macro level for policy making in this field.
