Abstract
The main issue of the current research is to analyze the formation of delinquency subculture among teenagers in public spaces in informal settlements. Four kinds of public spaces in this area, were selected by purposeful sampling. The studied subjects were also selected through targeted sampling, with maximum distribution, from among the teenagers who have a permanent presence in these spaces. The data collection tool is an in-depth individual interview and the data interpretation method is thematic analysis. The results show that the subjects studied in these spaces usually commit three types of crimes and misdemeanors: crimes against persons, crimes against property and vandalism. Adolescents commit these acts in the context of delinquency sub-culture and as a part of group identity and daily actions. This sub-culture itself is the result of contexts such as "family displacement and lack of emotional support", "crowding in informal settlements", "dense urban fabric and inhomogeneous populations", and "dominance of consumer culture". It is vulgar on public spaces. Apart from the fields of formation, this subculture has important consequences in the life of teenagers, such as "reproduction of inferiority", "disillusionment and withdrawal", "accepting the position of the outcasts", "disgust with the general culture of society" and "Feeling redundant" are the most important of them. The last thing is that, through this sub-culture, teenagers by adopting measures such as "civil disobedience", "breaking away from the family and choosing to live a single life" and "inventing innovative styles in body decoration and appearance" resist against Existing social rules.
