Presenting a conceptual model of body management for male bodybuilders with a sociological approach

Abstract

The aim of the upcoming article is to present a conceptual model of body management of male bodybuilders with a sociological approach, and for its implementation, a research method using the grounded theory technique of the Strauss and Corbin model was used. The statistical population of this research was made up of trainers of fitness clubs in different areas of Tehran. The sampling method continued as a snowball until theoretical saturation. From the results of the research, 6 main categories and 49 sub-categories for body management have been extracted and presented in the form of a theoretical model based on the foundation's data theory. The findings showed that the causal conditions include individual causes of physical characteristics, the role of nutrition; weak personality characteristics: society's perception of male bodybuilders; Background conditions include the role of religion, the role of laws, attitudes and views (traditional and contemporary views), social class base, the impact of modern technology and the level of technology, intervening conditions including family conditions; Social conditions, the role and atmosphere governing bodybuilding clubs, the atmosphere of bodybuilding clubs, relationships with male bodybuilders, society's perception of male bodybuilders (society's fashion discourse trend), other people's opinion of their bodies, women's attitudes towards men, consequences including performance sports; Individual performance, social performance and class differentiation and strategies including sports performance; Communication with bodybuilders; the impact of modern technology in its supply; It was wearing loose clothes.
