Facades of contemporary Iranian buildings, as the cultural phenomenon, contain precious concepts that explicitly indicate the identity of a society. Today, with the transformation and evolution of concepts, Facade design of contemporary Iranian buildings are losing fundamental features resulting in deviation from the values. In recent decades, the design of urban facades has faced some problems such as lack of integration, imitation of Western patterns as well as visual disturbances, the roots of which seem to be traced to the cultural problems. This article aims to identify the main causes of cultural problems in society, the effects of that on urban facades. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and in the field, using the interview tool. For this purpose, the qualitative content analysis method was used to achieve the goals and the findings were analyzed and integrated. The findings in terms of the most influential factors indicate the influence of western culture, weak worldview and lack of comprehensive understanding of Iranian values and the spread of purely economic view of architecture. The effect of these problems has been manifested in the form of mere formal imitation of western models, diversity and pluralism, lack of attention to local conditions, distance from the original values of Iranian-Islamic architecture, artistic vulgarity and etc.
