Art has always had different meanings and functions for humans. Various genres of art, from music to rock paintings, have all been attempts by humans to overcome the contradictions of life by taking an aesthetic approach to the world. The field of art, in current modernity, has an unprecedented breadth, diversity, and complexity that has been able to entertain its audience on different levels. Young people are among the main target groups for the promotion and consumption of art. For this reason, 20 young people from Astana (18 to 19 years old) were purposefully selected using theoretical sampling and in-depth interviews were conducted with them. Using the grounded theory method with a systematic approach, the collected data were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding. The findings of the study were extracted in the form of main categories including artistic interest areas, multifaceted limitations, avatarism, problematic following, celebrity-oriented regrets, acceptance of emotional pressures, etc. The core category of the research was also selected as avatarism: surreal regrets. On the same basis, the paradigmatic model and research theory were presented. The results of the research showed that surreal regrets are formed in young people due to structural and avatarism limitations for success.
