The aim of this research is to analyze the narrative of the images of women represented in murals in Tehran, in the style of Roland Barthes. Among the various genres and forms of art, urban murals are among the most important manifestations of the representation of the face, position, and role of women in society. The theoretical approach of the research is a combination of Stuart Hall's concept of representation, the theory of gender space, and the theory of gender ideology. The method used is narrative analysis in the style of Roland Barthes and the field of study is 52 paintings of murals depicted on the wall of the Women's Park on the Haqqani Highway in Tehran. The results of the research show that the representation of the concept of gender in murals with the theme of women narrates a de-sexualized woman in terms of external beauty and has a function in accordance with the dominant discourse of power structures in society. The painted image of women, according to specific social and ideological values, shows calm women without considering the elements of feminine aesthetics, who were mostly depicted veiled and with a specific type of veil and covering. The faces represented in these images lack any vitality and beauty and are mostly represented as gloomy and sad faces. The patterns presented in the representation of the image of women in the studied murals do not correspond to the preferred patterns of women in society and seem to depict a specific narrative of women.
