Ta'zieh, a ritualistic art form deeply rooted in Shia Muslim culture, has long captivated audiences from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Beyond being a mere historical or ritualistic event, Ta'zieh serves as a platform for worship and mourning, allowing participants to undergo a process of purification and soul refinement known as "catharsis," as described by Aristotle. Similarly, psychodrama, a psychological approach that has gained significant attention over the past century, offers individuals the opportunity to experience catharsis and soul refinement through performance-based therapy. The potential therapeutic value of catharsis derived from Ta'zieh and psychodrama in the treatment of mental and psychological disorders is explored in this research. This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences between Ta'zieh and psychodrama, with a practical focus on developing a strategic approach for their contemporary utilization. The research methodology involves qualitative analysis of library sources, as well as gathering information from audio and visual archives. The findings highlight the flexibility of psychodrama, allowing directors, facilitators, and protagonists to make personalized choices in terms of technique adaptation and utilization. Similarly, Ta'zieh exhibits its own flexibility, enabling the incorporation of diverse forms within psychodrama sessions. By harnessing the cathartic elements of Ta'zieh and psychodrama, individuals can experience profound emotional release and healing. Furthermore, the integration of psychodrama techniques into Ta'zieh performances enhances the therapeutic potential of this ancient art form. This research seeks to explore the practical applications of combining Ta'zieh and psychodrama, offering a strategic framework for their utilization in contemporary therapeutic settings.
