This research investigates the representation of politics in the everyday lives of students at Yasouj University, addressing the question: How do students experience and express politics in their daily routines? The theoretical framework synthesizes perspectives on everyday politics (de Certeau, Bayat, Scott), cultural representation (Hall, Butler), spatial dynamics (Lefebvre), structure and agency (Giddens), and subcultures (Hebdige), focusing on politics embedded in micro-level practices, lifestyles, and lived spaces. Utilizing a qualitative grounded theory methodology, data were gathered through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 18 students until theoretical saturation was reached. Analysis employed open, axial, and selective coding. Results indicate that politics is expressed informally and symbolically through students’ clothing, language, cultural spaces, virtual interactions, and subcultures. Despite apparent disengagement from conventional politics, students create avenues for political identity and agency via subtle tactics and soft resistance. These subcultures act as spaces for resistance and identity formation, where students construct alternative meanings of power and participation. These practices redefine politics as a process of meaning-making and micro-political engagement, distinct from traditional macro-political structures, underscoring the vibrancy of everyday politics in Yasouj’s local context.
