Introduction: The film "Breath" by Narges Abiyar has such characteristics and has managed to attract the opinion of critics and audiences, but despite this, it has been less analyzed. With a practical purpose, this research aims to analyze the role of the point of view in the filmic space.
research methodology: The research method is based on the ideas of Edward Branigan and the method of quantitative cinemetrics studies. Branigan pays special attention to the discussion of point of view and its cinematic form. He considers the POV shot as an example of the subjectivity or narrative of the character.
Findings: The results of this analysis show that the director of the film has correctly used Branigan's arrangements to build and expand a dominant point of view throughout the film and create a first-person narrative. About 60% of the duration and shots of the film are specifically dedicated to showing the character or her view in three forms: POV shots and OTS shots and her imagination in the form of animation.
Conclusion: The result of the devices examined in the film Breath is the focalization of the narrative by focusing on the character Bahar, which has resulted in the audience's empathy with this character. The proportion of POV shots in the film is much higher than other films in the world and is about 7 times the maximum of similar cases. Therefore, the visual system of this film is a special and unique case.
